Jelqing: How Long Does it Take to See Results?

As with any fitness regimen, consistency and commitment will be key factors in determining outcomes.

You have likely heard of people who give up after just one week because they don’t notice an immediate change or improvement and then there are those dedicated individuals who make slight adjustments over time until their desired goal has been achieved.

So how long does it take? It depends on how committed you are to your routine. Jelqing is a time-consuming exercise, but if you dedicate yourself to doing the exercises every day for about 9-12 months, you should start seeing some significant changes in your size!

What is Jelqing?

Penis stretching exercises are meant to make your penis longer and thicker. Various devices can be used to attempt to achieve this effect. The manual version, stretching your penis with your hand, is known as jelqing.

When jelqing you massage your penis tissues in such a way that the skin and tissues are stretched out enough to cause micro-tears. When these micro-tears heal they can appear to be engorged, and this is what makes your penis look bigger.

Does jelqing actually work, and how long does it take?

Does Jelqing Work?

Most of the evidence you’ll find out there for jelqing’s effectiveness is anecdotal, meaning stories shared by men who’ve tried it, rather than scientific studies. So, we don’t really know for sure whether or not jelqing actually increases penis size.

Any scientific studies that have been conducted related to increasing penis size by stretching have been done with traction devices or vacuum devices.

A study done in 2011 showed that using Penile Traction Therapy (PTT) for at least four to six hours per day for six months significantly increased penile length (but not girth) by half an inch to an inch.

A study done in 2016 showed a similar outcome.

How Long Before Jelqing Gives Results?

We don’t know the answer to that question for sure since no scientific studies have been conducted. But, I think it’s safe to say that since a traction device takes six to nine months to see results that the benefits (if there are any) of jelqing will take at least as long to manifest.

The number of inches that you gain after a few months will depend on your starting size, but in general most men who are new to jelqing can expect some modest gains of about an half an inch.

If you’re really curious as to how long it takes for results from jelqing to show up. Some people even change within just a couple of weeks if they were already fairly well endowed before beginning their routine.

But the time that you have to put in to see results will also depend on which type of jelqing routine you’re doing.

For example, if your goal is to increase the girth or circumference of a penis rather than length, there are some things that you may want to consider in order to achieve those specific goals:

– To maximize gains from inside out exercises, make sure not to grip too tightly with both hands when performing this exercise and maintain an even pressure throughout the whole stroke (always keep one hand supporting while using the other for thrusting).

Should I Try Jelqing?

For the most part, jelqing appears to be relatively safe as long as you are not too aggressive with your penis. Don’t squeeze it too hard or too often.

Being too rough can cause scar tissue to develop which can cause erectile dysfunction or other issues. Worse you could damage the ligaments connecting your penis to your pelvis, which could affect your ability to get hard.

You could also cause bruising, soreness, or skin irritation.

Jelqing Techniques

1. Use a warm bath or warm compresses to increase blood flow to your penis.

2. Use lube. Using lube will reduce friction to your skin, minimizing the possibility of damage.

3. Circle the base of your penis with your thumb and index finger.

4. Tighten your thumb and index finger until you achieve mild pressure on your shaft.

5. Slowly move your thumb and finger up toward the tip of your penis, reducing pressure if it becomes painful. Spend about 3 to 5 seconds per stroke.

6. Repeat this movement for five to twenty minutes, once per day.

More Tips

Do not do this exercise with a fully erect penis. You want room for the tissues to stretch, this is difficult if they are already filled with blood.

Don’t jelq more than one or two times per day. If you do you greatly increase the risk of hurting yourself.
